Now Hiring: Executive Director

Scarlet Rope Project is seeking a mission-driven, Christ-centered Executive Director to lead the organization into its next season of growth and impact. For more than a decade, Scarlet Rope Project has provided a restorative, healing-centered community for adult women who have experienced sex trafficking. As SRP continues to grow its residential services, transitional support, community education, and partnerships, the next Executive Director will build upon a strong foundation while strengthening the organizational structure needed for the future.

The Opportunity

The Executive Director will serve as the senior organizational and operational leader of Scarlet Rope Project, working closely with the Board of Directors to provide strategic direction and ensure the organization remains healthy, effective, and focused on its mission.

This role is especially suited for a leader who enjoys building strong teams and systems. The Executive Director will oversee staff, programs, finances, policies, organizational strategy, and day-to-day operations while creating the structure and accountability necessary for SRP's continued growth.

The Executive Director will work collaboratively with the Director of Development, who will focus primarily on fundraising, donor stewardship, community relationships, strategic partnerships, and increasing awareness and financial support for SRP. Together, these two leadership roles will help ensure that SRP has both the strong internal infrastructure and external support necessary to serve women well and sustain the organization for years to come.

Above all, the Executive Director will protect and strengthen SRP's Christ-centered culture, ensuring that faith, compassion, dignity, accountability, and survivor empowerment remain central to the organization's work.

What You'll Need

  • Organizational Leadership: Provide overall leadership for SRP's staff, programs, operations, policies, and organizational systems.

  • Mission & Strategy: Partner with the Board of Directors and leadership team to implement SRP's strategic plan, establish priorities, and translate organizational goals into measurable results.

  • People & Culture: Lead, supervise, support, and develop staff while fostering a healthy culture built on communication, accountability, collaboration, professional growth, and commitment to SRP's Christian mission.

  • Programs & Survivor Services: Provide executive oversight of SRP's residential, transitional, and community-based programs, working closely with program and clinical leadership to ensure services remain trauma-informed, survivor-centered, evidence-informed, and aligned with best practices.

  • Financial Stewardship: Work with the Board, Treasurer, and appropriate staff to develop and oversee the annual budget, maintain strong financial practices, and ensure responsible stewardship of SRP's resources.

  • Operations & Infrastructure: Ensure policies, procedures, staffing structures, technology, facilities, risk management, and organizational systems support effective and sustainable operations.

  • Board Partnership: Maintain a strong relationship with the Board of Directors and provide the information, communication, and leadership needed for effective governance, strategic decision-making, and organizational accountability.

  • Development Partnership: Work collaboratively with the Director of Development to ensure fundraising and development efforts align with SRP's strategic priorities and financial needs.

  • External Leadership: Represent SRP alongside the Director of Development when appropriate with community leaders, churches, partner agencies, law enforcement, foundations, donors, and other stakeholders.

Who We're Looking For

The successful candidate will be a strong, collaborative leader who combines compassion with sound organizational judgment. This person should be comfortable leading people, developing systems, making decisions, and working alongside an established founder who is transitioning into a new role within the organization.

Qualifications include:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field; master's degree preferred.

  • Progressive leadership experience in a nonprofit, ministry, social-service, business, or other mission-driven environment.

  • Demonstrated experience supervising, developing, and holding staff accountable while creating a healthy organizational culture.

  • Experience managing budgets and understanding nonprofit financial operations.

  • Strong organizational, strategic planning, and problem-solving abilities.

  • Excellent written, interpersonal, and public communication skills.

  • Ability to collaborate effectively with a Board of Directors, leadership team, staff, and community stakeholders.

  • Ability to clearly define responsibilities, communicate expectations, and work collaboratively within a shared leadership environment.

  • Understanding of trauma-informed and survivor-centered approaches to service delivery.

  • Experience leading an organization or team through growth, change, or leadership transition preferred.

  • Knowledge of human trafficking, exploitation, trauma, addiction, homelessness, or related areas of service is required.

  • Fundraising or donor-relations experience is beneficial, although the Executive Director will work closely with SRP's Director of Development in these areas.

  • Ability to successfully complete required background screening.

Faith and Mission Alignment

Scarlet Rope Project is a Christ-centered organization, and the Executive Director is expected to actively support and uphold the Christian mission, values, and culture of the organization. The Executive Director should lead with integrity, humility, compassion, wisdom, and a deep respect for the dignity and agency of every woman SRP serves. This leader should understand that SRP's Christian identity is foundational to who we are and how we serve.

The Next Chapter

This is a unique opportunity to lead an established organization during an important season of growth and transition.

The next Executive Director will inherit a committed staff, an engaged Board of Directors, strong community support, established partnerships, and a mission that has been built through more than a decade of service.

The new Executive Director will also have the benefit of working alongside SRP's co-founder as she transitions into the Director of Development role, providing continuity in donor and community relationships while allowing the Executive Director to focus significant energy on organizational leadership, staff development, program excellence, and long-term sustainability.

We are seeking a leader who will honor SRP's history while bringing their own gifts, experience, and leadership to the organization—helping Scarlet Rope Project remain strong, sustainable, and prepared to serve women for many years to come.
